My love of photography started early…
Every birthday and Christmas I would ask for some kind of camera gear, starting with a few quirky kinds back in the 80s - anyone remember 110 film? No? Anyway, I always felt at home behind the lens. It gave me the opportunity to observe and capture all those little moments that would otherwise go unnoticed.
I later went on to get a degree in journalism and got my start as a reporter for the local paper. Eventually, I found my way over to the photo side - capturing everything from community events to high school sports to crime and local government as a freelance photojournalist. And to be honest, this was my dream come true. I soon realized I could apply this style of photography to capture everyday moments in people's lives, so they could have their stories told, too.
So, whether I'm behind a keyboard or a lens, I like to think of myself as a storyteller. I love truth and imperfection in all its ugliness and beauty. Sometimes life isn't exactly pretty, but that's when the best stories are born.
The best thing about my job though is the freedom to work from home. My husband and I are currently raising four crazy kiddos in the heart of Bucks County. As much as it probably drives them nuts, my kids are pretty good sports when it comes to the thousands of pictures I take of them every waking moment. They'll thank me one day though, I think.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, Bella + Moone is named after my two daughters. My apologies to the boys, but using all four names would've made for really long business cards.
Thanks for checking me out and I hope to tell your story soon!
